01 — Who we are

Great garments.
Even better partnerships.

Founded in 1999 in the Tiruppur cluster, where most of India's knitwear is made. We stayed here because the fabric, the dyeing, the trims and the labour are all within an hour of our gate.

A family of makers.
A partner for your next chapter.

Since 1999, Sri Ashwath Knits has brought knitwear and woven collections to life in Tiruppur. Our 250 people combine hands-on experience with the attention that turns an approved sample into a collection you can count on.

Cutting, stitching, checking, pressing, packing and dispatch happen at our own facility. With production, quality and communication in-house, the person answering your email can walk straight to the line and check.

Today, we work with brands across Canada, Germany, Poland, Greece, Spain, the Netherlands and India. Most of our volume comes from returning partners — relationships built one well-made garment at a time.

Start with 1,000 pieces per style. Develop a sample in one to two weeks. Build a collection with people who care as much about the details as you do.

TAGGING
The thread that connects us

Behind every great garment is a thousand little things, done with care.

The fabric you feel. The fit you trust. The details you notice. And all the ones you don’t.

SMALL BEGINNINGS. BEAUTIFUL POSSIBILITIES.

It starts with
a single thread.

Loop by loop. Stitch by stitch. A little care becomes something you can feel.

02 — What we are for

Shared ambition.
A lasting commitment.

We build lasting relationships through consistent quality, clear communication and care at every stage. These are the principles behind every collection we make.

VISION

To be the supplier a buyer stops having to check on.

Not the largest unit in Tiruppur, and not trying to be. The ambition is narrower than that: to be the one on a buyer's list whose dates hold, whose shade matches the lot, and whose follow-up email is short because there is nothing to explain.

  • Keep every critical stage inside our own four blocks.
  • Grow by repeat orders rather than by new logos.
  • Stay a size where the managing director still walks the floor daily.

THE SITE, KANAKKAMPALAYAM
MISSION

Fabric in, garments out, on the date we gave you.

Everything between those two points happens under one roof and under our own supervisors. That is the whole method. It is why a shade that drifts between rolls is caught in the same building it was cut in, and why the person answering your email can walk to the line and look.

  • Cut, stitch, check, finish, pack and dispatch in-house.
  • A checking section with its own people and its own floor space.
  • Samples in one to two weeks, bulk in 45 days, shipment in 45 to 60.
  • Audited on all four SMETA pillars, with the report available on Sedex.

Twenty-seven years

Rooted in craft.
Growing with purpose.

From our beginnings in 1999 to collections across seven markets. A journey shaped by our people, our partners and the work we put in every day.

1999

Founded in the Tiruppur cluster

V. Manipalanisamy starts the unit at Kanakkampalayam, inside the cluster that makes most of India's knitwear, so fabric, dyeing, trims and labour all sit within an hour of the gate.

EARLY YEARS

Knits first, then woven

Single jersey and pique tees to begin with. Woven shirting, twill and drill come later, which is what makes a co-ord set or a nightwear programme possible from one floor instead of two suppliers.

EXPORT

Seven markets, one gate

Programmes for brands in Canada, Germany, Poland, Greece, Spain and the Netherlands, alongside Indian labels sold through the country's largest marketplaces. Most of the volume is repeat business.

TODAY

16,500 sq ft, four blocks, 150 machines

250 people on the floor and 260,000 pieces and sets a month. Deliberately a size where the managing director still walks every block daily.

SMETA 4-Pillar audit

NEXT

Deeper, not wider

The plan is not more floor space. It is shorter sampling, tighter shade control and keeping the dates we quote — the things a returning buyer actually notices.

03 — Infrastructure

A place for every process.
Care in every corner.

Step inside our 16,500 sq ft facility in Tiruppur. Four connected blocks bring our people, processes and production together in one carefully organised space.

A little closer to the craftA working day on our stitching floor.

Nothing here is hired in. Cutting, stitching, checking, pressing, packing and dispatch are all on this site and run by our own people. The only work that leaves the gate is wet processing, which goes to dyeing and washing houses inside the Tiruppur cluster, within an hour of us.

04 — Manufacturing

From a roll of fabric
to something remarkable.

Seven stages. One connected team. Take a closer look at the people and processes that turn your approved fabric into a finished collection.

A note on wording. SMETA is an ethical trade audit, not a certification, and Better Cotton is a programme membership rather than a product certification; we describe both that way on purpose. If you want the full report and the corrective action plan, connect to us on Sedex or ask and we will share the link.

Checked at the source

Fabric is shade-checked and recorded against the lot before it is cut, so a shade problem never reaches a sewing line.

A stage, not an afterthought

Checking sits as its own section between stitching and finishing, with its own people and its own floor space.

Nothing ships unchecked

Final inspection happens before packing. Cartons are marked to buyer specification and staged in finished-goods storage.
